Nutrition:

We have seven nutrition centers in Marshall County (Senior centers): Albertville, Arab, Boaz, Douglas, Grant, Guntersville, Martling. The centers provide more than just meals; activities include exercise, line dancing, card games, checkers, dominos, rook, Bible studies, pool and much more. We also provide nutritious meals to homebound seniors, better known as "Meals on Wheels".

SHIP:(State Health Insurance Program)

We assist disabled individuals and seniors with insurance needs, such as Medicare A & B, selecting supplemental, prescription drug plans (Part D), and advantage plans. Applications for Medicare Saving Plans (MSP) and Low Income Subsidy can be submitted through our office. This can save low income seniors the cost of premiums for Medicare Part B, Part D and reduce the monthly cost of prescription drugs. During OPEN ENROLLMENT, which is October until December, individuals can evaluate their current Part D plan coverage.

Senior RX:

A prescription drug assistance program that has helped thousands of Alabamians receive FREE prescription drugs from pharmaceutical companies. The program is for Alabamians age 55+ and persons with disabilities of any age who have been diagnosed with one or more chronic medical conditions that require daily medication. Clients receive a 3-month supply of prescriptions from various pharmaceutical companies at NO COST and can be renewed as long as you are eligible.

Medicaid Waiver Program:

Provides services to seniors and those with disabilities whose needs would otherwise qualify for placement in a long term care facility. Our goal is for clients to retain their independence by providing services that allow them to live in their homes and communities they love for as long as possible. Many services are available with this program such as personal care, homemaker services, errands ran, companionship, respite care and meal preparations.

Alabama Cares:

Provides time for the caregiver to do something for themselves.

Transportation:

Seniors are transported to and from senior centers. Participates can designate days for trips to grocery store, pharmacy, and other locations.
